Godolphin's Dubai One Makes Debut at Kempton for Saeed bin Suroor

6:30 Kempton -

For many race fans the excitement of enjoying two-year-old racing is the appearance of a very talented horse. A horse that wins impressively on debut but competes at pattern class and heralded as a future Classic winner.

We may  have one such two-year-old making its debut today.

Dubai One is trained by Saeed bin Suroor for the mighty Godolphin. This chestnut daughter of Exceed And Excel, out of a relatively poor-winning mare, who was trained by Michael Bell. The reputation of Dubai One proceeds her because she is even money favourite to take this evening's maiden at Sunbury.

She is bred to start over this 6f and races from stall 6, ridden by James Doyle.

Of the form horses Hathfa, showed ability on debut when seriously backed but, perhaps, slightly disappointed next start at Newbury, although that was a decent contest. This is definitely one of the better juveniles in Richard Hughes string.

Etikaal is another live threat for Simon Crisford in the silks of Hamdan Al Maktoum. This son of Sepoy has a wide draw which isn't ideal on this turning course. However, Crisford has been an example to just about all this season when it comes to preparing a debutant to shine on its formative start.

Conclusion: Dubai One will be the focus of many racegoers and pundits alike. This filly takes on a field of colts [two other fillies, too] but she is expected to win. Saeed bin Suroor has a fantastic strike rate at this course. Debutants can be a tricky betting medium, especially on a turning course over a sprint distance, but this filly should go well. If she is a class act I very much doubt Hathfa will be good enough, although his race experience is positive and he is proven to have ability. Etikaal is a worthy opponent and could be a tough horse to beat if not suffering too badly from his wide draw. A fascinating race.

5:25 Doncaster Racing Tips (10th Sept) DFS BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF MAIDEN STAKES (Plus 10 Race) (CLASS 3) (2yo)

An EBF Maiden Stakes over one mile on good going. Eight two-year-olds: three raced and selection of debutantes from leading stables.

One horse catches the eye. Very Talented, trained by Saeed Bin Suroor. This bay colt is a son of Invincible Spirit out of an unraced mare.

Godolphin bred this juvenile at Darley and takes after his name -a horse going places.

A sterling effort over 7f at Goodwood, on debut, indicated a promising individual who would surely improve from starting odds of 20/1. He done very little wrong in the Convivial Maiden Stakes at York.

This February foal travelled with panache, if not a little keen, and held the edge over his rival until the final half furlong. Whether this extra furlong will bring further improvement is a matter of opinion. A number of flashy Group entries indicate that a mile is the trainer's preference. His major objectives are the Dewhurst Stakes Group 1 and Racing Post Trophy Group 1. Long term the 2000 Guineas is penciled in for the boys in blue.

Since his Convivial second to Luca Cumani's Beautiful Morning, he has been entered for two Stakes races and a Listed contest. A maiden should be pretty straightforward if those ambitious plans are to be considered.

Must take all the beating.

Linguistic races in the first colours for Godolphin, trained by John Gosden. This Irish bred son of Lope De Veag cost 650,000GNS and holds a couple of high-profile race entries. This bay colt isn't here to make up the numbers but it would need the favourite to disappoint or a smart horse to arrive to disappoint connections.

Conclusion: Hopefully Very Talented will settle over this extra furlong, which in my view is the only concern to his success at this level. Linguistic has ability and if priced at each way odds or around even money place could be a fair bet in himself.

Correct, as usual.

I don't know who read the posts, what you think, whether you bet on these selections etc etc. Please help support our website because trust me these things don't just appear without a lot of talent, time and enthusiasm. 4:20 York Racing Tips (21st Aug) BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF CONVIVIAL MAIDEN STAKES (Plus 10 Race) (CLASS 2) (2yo)

Sadly not enough time to write a substantial post for this excellent race but a few pointers. Firstly, look at the price money for this maiden. Win price money of £31,125. Astounding. Worth more than most Listed races. The form of this 7f contest will produce many future winners and many will contest Group races.

Last year's contest was won by White Lake, a debutante trained by Luca Cumani. A race that was far from a vintage renewal and this gelding proved slightly disappointing although competing at pattern class.

I sense this contest will detail a winner of greater class.

Brian Meehan said he was ''very confident'' about the chances of Perkunas. I've rarely heard him talk about a horse in such terms.

Very Talented ran well on debut at Goodwood and it held in high regard by Godolphin and Saeed Bin Suroor. Definitely worth noting.

Luca Cumani rates Beautiful Morning. This beautifully bred filly cost 650,000. This daughter of Galileo ran well on debut when fourth and sure to improve.

Never easy for a debutante to shine on debut especially against proven, experienced juvenile but I'm very interested in Click And Roll for David Brown. This bay filly sired by Candian Smart Strike out of an unraced mare. A half-sister to Hootenanny this March foal has clearly been catching pigeons on the gallops.Qatar Racing Ltd have a wealth of two-year-olds and it it intriguing this filly is their sole representative. Brown can go well with his debutantes and I would expect a bold show.

Conclusion: A maiden of maidens - class horses vying for a prize that makes trainers, pundits and racegoers look twice. Plenty of winners will come from this contest which displays a field of potentially smart two-year-olds. Very Talented and Perkunas are worthy of note, with valuable race experience and lofty plans. The former, especially so. Beautiful Morning is bred to be a specimen and could go well for connections. Many debutantes catch the eye but Click And Roll is a horse I have mentioned a number of times before and excited to see take part. David Brown can ready a juvenile making its racecourse bow and this filly will need to be street-wise today. All noted have fair win and place claims.

2:30 York (21st August) Pinsent Masons LLP Acomb Stakes (Group 3)

Six two-year-olds take part in this contest over 7f on good ground for a win prize of just over £34,000. This small but select field of juveniles sees one filly taking on a number of talented colts from leading trainers. Last year's winner, Dundonnell, went on to prove himself a class horse for Roger Charlton racing at Group 1.

Godolphin have been in fine form with their two-year-olds this season. First Flight, a home bred son of Invincible Spirit out of a lightly-raced mare, made a sparkling debut at Newbury over 6f. This January foal was well backed but so tardy from the stalls that he looked a forlorn hope - but nothing could halt this bay colt as he powered home for a comfortable victory. The form of that race is probably nothing out of the ordinary but many were impressed by that display. This step up in distance will be to his advantage and from a wealth of horses it speaks well Saeed Bin Suroor sends this youngster to race at this higher level.

Another colt with an unblemished career is The Grey Gatsby. This big, imposing, chestnut colt caught the eye of many pundits with a determined finish over 6f at York, beating another of today's contestants, Brazos. This son of Mastercraftsman was a 120,000euro breeze-up purchase from Arqana Saint-Cloud, out of a winning mare. This Irish bred is held in the highest regard by Kevin Ryan and entered for multiple Group-class races, including the Dewhurst Stakes & Racing Post Trophy (Group 1). Graham Lee keeps the ride and there should be ample improvement from that initial start. Potentially, a class horse.

As mentioned, Brazos was deprived of his first win at the hooves of The Grey Gatsby when looking to hold every chance. Clive Brittain's grey colt, a son of Clodovil, is a handsome specimen who will not be disgraced at pattern class his long-term aim the Middle Park Stakes (Group 1). Never a man to shy away from competition, Brittain plunged this juvenile in the deep end when suffering a narrow loss on debut at Stakes level. However, his luck changed when winning a big-money maiden at Goodwood, in a tight finish. On balance, this horse looks to have more speed than stamina so it will be intriguing to see how he compares with The Grey Gatsby over this extra furlong. Preference would be given to his old adversary.

Of the others, Il Paparazzi has done rookie trainer Daniel Kubler proud. This son of Royal Applause ran well when making his racecourse bow then a sparkling display over course and distance. Without question, that was a tidy performance. However, it could well be that race fell apart at the seams and this could well prove a stiff task. A horse deserving of respect but others make more appeal.

Treaty Of Paris hails from one of my favourite trainers [Henry Candy] and a consistent horse. Although beaten by a smart horse last start, this looks a tall order and best watched.

A similar story can be told for the only filly in the field, Lady Lara. She has been set a difficult task starting her career in the Albany Stakes (Group 3) at Royal Ascot. This daughter of Excellent Art showed her well-being when finishing 6th in the Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes (Group 3). Alan Jarvis takes the bold step to take on the boys.

Conclusion: A fascinating race with a selection of talented juveniles. By all accounts this looks a three-horse race with First Flight, The Grey Gatsby & Brazos holding the aces. Il Paparazzi deserves respect but still has something to prove. Saeed Bin Suroor has a string of talented juveniles and First Flight will improve markedly for his debut and stepping up in distance. The Grey Gatsby is a good-looking colt. He has the physical stature of an old-fashioned horse and very much at the top of the tree of Ryan's two-year-olds. I would give this youngster the nod. A race to savor.

3:50 Kempton (24th September) Free Horse Racing Tips

An EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 7F.

The second division on the card. Godolphin have a number of two-year-old representatives at this meeting.

Intiba is a home bred son of Street Cry trained by Saeed Bin Suroor. This bay filly was fancied to run a big race on debut at Salisbury in the hands of Frankie Dettori but beaten by a what looked a talented juvenile in Lanansaak. The pair held Rainbow Beauty who is no world beater but capable of winning a maiden. That experience will see this youngster well today. Saeed Bin Suroor does exceptionally well with his juveniles on the all-weather and from a statistical point alone has a superb win and place chance. The averages suggest this horse should be priced just over even money. A live contender with Dettori retaining the ride.

The other Godolphin runner hails from Mamood Al Zarooni's stable. Breezily - a daughter of Hard Spun- hasn't been seen for over two months since finishing last at Folkestone when racing over 5f. This bay filly wasn't the most expensive of yearlings but fancied in the betting that day. With such a poor showing it isn't beyond the realms she disappointed on debut although you have to take a leap of faith better will be seen. On breeding this step up to 7f looks more suiting. The betting is the best guide. If priced 13/2 & less it would give greater confidence.

Of the other form horses, Reveille is certainly worth forgiving a poor run at Epsom last time. Hughie Morrison doesn't have many strongly fancied debutantes but this daughter of Sakhee's Secret was very well backed for her racecourse bow at Chepstow. A canny purchase at 28,000gns she had a hard-fought battle with Mick Channon's favourite in testing conditions. Many a judge considered that was a pretty hard race for a first experience and it may have tainted her when disappointing next start. This youngster looked all at sea on the course and didn't seem happy from start to finish. I would conclude this chestnut filly is much better than that poor showing. If fancied in the betting it would be a sign of confidence. Conversely, a weakness would set alarm bells ringing. Morrison's first few juvenile runners of the season usually go on to win and being so short in the betting on both starts suggests this filly has ability.

Chamtille was a remote second last time and best watched.

July Waits showed next to no ability on debut and would need to be substantially backed to give any hope.

La Danza is another juvenile who needs to progress markedly on her debut effort. Alan Bailey's two-year-olds are worth noting in the betting but unless seriously backed is best watched.

Richard Hannon has his juveniles attaining the highest of standards and should be respected. Three Choirs has run fair races to date but needs to improve to win a race of this nature

Of the debutantes, a few of these hail from leading trainers. Playbill is trained by Sir Michael Stoute and owned by Lady Rothschild. This stable's juvenile can be rather hit and miss on debut although a good few have run well at this course. The betting is key. If priced 13/2 & less this daughter of Medicean could register although a wide draw is far from ideal. Unless substantially backed I would rather watch and learn a little more.

Henry Candy is a trainer who often slips under the radar and it is encouraging to see Pearl Bloodstock Ltd making the most of his talents. Pearl Street is a half-sister the talented Peter Martins so one to keep on the right side. There is usually money around for the stable's better juveniles who can win on debut although - in general - are more likely to hit the frame and improve for the run. The betting is usually a very good judge of the Pearl Bloodstock Ltd juveniles and if strongly fancied would be of interest.

The market is similarly the best judge of Luca Cumani's Sharqawlyah. The stable can be very hit and miss with their debutantes even when fancied in the betting. In past years they feature fair place claims when supported but I would have to take a watching brief.

RocksillaSporting Club Girl come from stables which often need the run.

Conclusion: Experience counts for a lot on a turning course and especially difficult for horses making their racecourse bow from a wide draw. From a statistical point of view Intiba is the talking horse. Saeed Bin Suroor does brilliantly with this juveniles on the all-weather and this filly will take all the beating. The main contender could well be Hughie Morrison's Reveille. She ran well on debut but disappointed at Epsom. You have to keep the faith to bet and unless fair odds are available I would be careful. However, Morrison does very well with his juveniles and most go on to win a race. That last run was too bad to be true and better should be expected. A question mark or two, but sound each way claims if back to best. The betting will tell the story for Breezily. If she is backed to 13/2 & less SP it would be a sign of ability. The debutantes have their work cut out. Playbill may have similar chances if fancied in the betting. However, the stable's juveniles often improve with racing. Pearl Street comes from a canny trainer/owner combination. I would take a watching brief unless seriously backed. It usually takes the better stable juveniles to win at the first time of asking. The other horses are best watched.
