Well, the waiting is over. The unveiling of the Bloody Good Winner Tipping Competition. I'd crack a bottle champagne on a stern if I was near a big ship. It's dangerous on a dingy! I hope the regulars have familiarised themselves with the new look and lay out.
With the new character theme and player odds chalked up each week it all adds to the fun. Plus, every month your Gambler Character Icon gives you the chance to gain free entry. Yes, as usual, I have to put my hand in my pocket. No one can say that I don't do my best to make this a good, fun, professional competition.
All we need is all for all of this month's professionals to keep coming back for more and even adding to their potential win prize by Referring A Friend (adds £15 to your prize money if you win that month's comp) and we have something worth winning.
Everything is in place to go onward and upward. I've put the work in to make it a better experience and achieved that goal. The rest, as they say, is up to you. The final week of the tipster competition and it's that man again, Mr Winter, in winning form. It's late summer but already winter is causing me havoc. I hate to imagine how I will be feeling come December. I've decided to light a fire to warm my spirits. Alan [Winter] has 27.25pts in his pocket and unless someone comes out all guns blazing I have a feeling he will take all the beating. Credit where it's due he knows his horses. Glueythepig (free) sits in second place with 21pts, Gareth (free) 19pts. Next pro combatant is OneEyeEnos 17pts. The tipping competition sparked into life last week with a few points scribbled on the board. Gareth (free) holds the lead with 19pts, from OneEyeEnos (pro) a point behind with 18pts. Then we have a trio of freebies: Stephenson 15pts, Glueythepig 11pts & Danny 10pts. Clint (pro) & Davidson (pro) are similarly jubilant with 10pts (the latter making hay by way of a non runner). Alan Winter went very close to winning the competition when his 33/1 went oh so near. However, he pocketed 9.25pts for a handy place. The third week of the tipping competition. Its been a quiet month so far with handful of scorers and little in the way of points. The freebies are ruling the roost with Gareth & Glueythepig on 11pts. Danny is a gnat's whisker behind with 10pts.
But who is winning the pro ranks? Shukman is top with just 6pts. As I always say, a lead is a big lead. Considering no other pro player has a point he is probably laying back in the sun, drinking a pina colada and waiting for the field to actually show a little form. Other freebies to bag a touch of glory are Me Old Mum & Emanuel.
Still all to play for and I'm pretty sure someone will throw a stick of dynamite to set this competition alight. A quiet start to the month with the pro tipsters going close on occasions but no cigar. Perhaps pinch of tobacco for their pipe. Shukman (pro) holds the lead with 3.4pts. However, it's the freebies who have the lead. The infamous Glueythepig 11pts found a winner, while Danny 10pts is hot on his heels. The only other points scorer is Emanuel 2.8pts. All very quite. The third week of this month's tipping competition. Dive for cover! It's warming up. As yet, the pro competitors are shooting clear of the field - gallant in their two-finger salute to all who dare look ahead. Davison (pro) - bolstered by last month's win - fired a scud missile of a winner in his attempt to depose Jodonovan (pro) from his bunker at the top of the leader table. But in an astute military riposte [from an evasive Passato Sotto] John dropped a hefty mortar bomb stunning his rivals to lead with 21pts. Davidson has 17pts in second place. Next best is Stephenson (free) on 9pts, with Rawnsley (pro) on 5pts in fourth. Most tipsters have struggled to find their aim - keeping their powder dry - but with two weeks to go I'm expecting a couple of petrol bombs to be slung over my fence this weekend. 1PM Deadline. It's that time again - the Saturday Tipping Competition. An exciting month. Jodonovan (pro) protected his lead with another winner and sits proudly at the top of the table with 29.5pts. Fred Pippage (free) snaffled a tasty 11/1 shot to hold second place 24pts. Clint (pro) has third place with 23pts, KeeJayPee (pro) fourth with 22pts. The final week of this month's competition and it has been a mighty fine points scoring bonanza. Me Old Mum had been quiet and then like a witch on a broomstick appears with a flash of black smoke and finds the Scottish National winner and bags 52pts. She heads the free competition. Alan Winter has shone like a star with the Grand National winner and last week second in the Scottish. He sits proudly at the top of the pro ranks with 38.25pts. Bobby Talk (pro) sits in second with 23.145pts, while Long Bow (free) 22pts holds third position.
