7:10 Windsor

A restricted auction race for colts and fillies over 6f on good to firm ground.

A number of form horses taking part and a fair difference between top and bottom weight.

With Hindsight, a compact sort and son of Ad Valorem, has been placed on both starts. Cox is a good judge of his juveniles and places them well. The draw may have cost this youngster a win at Salisbury, when making a bold bid to cross from stall 4 to join the leaders and narrowly failed to land the spoils. In truth that looked an average maiden and a similar run to his debut performance, which suggests he can just about win a race of this nature. A determined juvenile who travels well, you can expect a good showing and has place claims.

Capaill Liath proved a costly failure for many punters last time when beaten at odds of 4/11. The form of this grey colt's debut behind Rerouted has taken a few knocks of late although to all purposes this has to be a drop in class. Hills does quite well with his two-year-olds at Windsor and this attractive son of Iffraaj can have no excuses today and connections will expecting a big run.

Peter Makin has been quiet with his two-year-olds but Laugh Or Cry was quite fancied on debut at Kempton. That was a very restricted auction race and you have to question the merit of that form as it could well be moderate. Makin features respectable win and place rate with his fancied juveniles on their second start and another to have place claims although more is needed today.

Richard Hannon continues the season in fine form and with a 16% strike rate for his two-year-olds at Windsor Mr Perceptive is worthy of consideration. One of the more expensive in this field at £20,000 he has to give weight away to some of these cheaper purchases. The betting will be the best indicator to this ones chances.

One of the more attractive juveniles in this field will be Michael Blanshard's Arctic Mirage. This son of Iceman is stocky and has some scope to improve with racing. Inexperience hampered his performance on debut when running in zig-zag fashion away from the whip when asked for a little extra in the last furlong. A well-backed outsider, he has course experience and should come on for the run. The form of that race is once again difficult to assess. From stall 1 it will make his task all the more difficult but a juvenile to keep an eye on as if looks are anything he could be winning soon.

Tips:
Bet 2:30 Wolverhampton - Imperial Look 0.5PTEW (14/1) 6th
Comment: 'Statistical bet but unfortunately not one of McMahon's better juveniles. A very good trainer who will pay dividends long term.'

Bet: 7:10 Windsor - Arctic Mirage 0.5PTEW (9/1) 4th
Comment: 'The winner was in a different class but Arctic Mirage ran well. The draw made this a difficult task and then finding trouble in-running made it a battle for a place. Once again this colt ran about under pressure and annoying not to get a place.'
