2:30 Kempton (13th August) Free Horse Racing Tips

A Median Auction Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 7f. A seven-strong field. A mixed bag of experienced juveniles, two unraced.

Rio's Pearl is a classy horse and for her ability it is surprising she hasn't won a maiden in her first four starts. This bay filly, a daughter of Captian Rio, has size and scope to progress with racing and connections will be indifferent to defeat at this grade. The last two performances have been particularly creditable when beaten by decent opposition. This return to seven furlong could be viewed as stretching her stamina especially after looking a near certainty at Doncaster only to be caught in the dying strides. This turning course will help take a fraction off the pace which will be a plus. However, I fully expect Crowley to make a bold front-running show and hold a clear advantage turning into the home straight. There is a slight concern she may be vulnerable to a late charge if tiring but looks an easy lay bet at short odds in-running to guarantee a win. Beckett will be disappointed if this isn't fifth time lucky and I expect an easy win.

Conclusion: Looks a fine opportunity for Rio's Pearl to gain her first victory.

HCE Mentions:

2:20 Ffos Las - Tarara

This looks quite a competitive race. Tarara ran well on debut at Goodwood and will come on for the race. Should be in the frame.

7:10 Wolverhampton - Titled Gent & Excuse To Linger

The former trained by Brian Meehan was substantially backed on debut but ran poorly. The betting tells a big run is expected today and take some beating. Excuse To Linger is another with plenty of support. Noseda's juveniles can be very hard to beat on their second start, especially on the all-weather. At the odds there looks little value to be found but I wouldn't back against this pair. I'd be surprised if they are not first and second.
