Monday's Thoughts

4:20 Kempton

A fascinating race with a number of potentially smart fillies on show. Set To Music ran well on debut and although it is difficult to assess the form of that race it is most likely good. Probably the most proven of these is Opera Dancer who has run well on her last two starts and a touch unlucky when hampered at Goodwood. It will be interesting to see whether Bonita Star can reverse the places after being a couple of lengths behind Kirk's runner. That was a fair run on debut and she wasn't disgraced when running against colts in a very good race at Newmarket won by Henry Cecil's Frankel. Bonita Star has since been entered to run in a Listed race and from a high draw could run well at fair odds. Luca Cumani has stepped Poplin up in distance from 6f to a mile and that looks a significant move. Bred to appreciate further, this chestnut filly by Medicean could be something of a dark horse. Last but not least is Henry Cecil's Wafeira who is another to step up to a mile. A tough race to call - but plenty of winners will come from this contest.

5:15 Windsor

Not too many fancied for this - the betting indicating a two-horse race between Invincible Ridge and Pearl Arch. The former, trained by Richard Hannon, ran a great race on debut and will be tough to beat. Pearl Arch is likely to improve from his debut at Ffos Las although will certainly need to have ability to trouble the likely favourite.
