Friday's Thoughts

3:15 Sandown

A tricky race with a few potentially fair horses. Noonenose sets the standard and has very good each-way claims although the price is unlikely to allow such a bet. Arc Light comes from a race that is difficult to assess but should be respected. Marcus Tregoning thinks a lot of Muntasib and this attractive colt is likely to have improved for a promising debut. A competitive heat and although Noonenose has proven ability this may not be an easy task.

4:05 York

Very good prize money on offer for the Convivial Maiden with over £16,000 to the winner. A tough race to call with a number of potential improvers and classy form horses. El Muqbil is held in high regard by Meehan and will run a big race. Terdaad, trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, is one of the stable's better two-year-olds. An outsider worth noting is The Bells O Peover, who is also rated by the Johnston team. The winner of this will be a talented juvenile.

5:25 Salisbury

A large field for this auction race over 6f. Morache Music is a decent looking colt and ran on very well at Windsor at huge odds. Makin's two-year-old should be fitter and wiser today and must run a fair race. Park Ballet isn't ideally drawn in stall 2 but is an attractive sort and has a big weight concession which is a plus.

6:00 Salisbury

Handicaps are never the easiest of races to assess, however Jacobs Son has been running well in maidens and at 8/1 must have a place claims.
