500th Posting

2:15 York

The Lowther Stakes (Group 2) could be a match between two talented fillies - Margot Did and Maqaasid. Both proven pattern-class performers, this is an exciting battle of two very differing horses.

This slightly easier 6f should suit Bell's two-year-old (Margote Did) who has travelled with supreme ease in her races only to have been caught in the final strides at Ascot in two Group races. That form cannot be knocked and she is likely to be a short price in-running and then it will be a battle to the line.

Maqaasid is unbeaten in two starts, her last victory in the Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2). This 6f could bring about further improvement and a win today would see her a major fancy for the 1,000 Guineas. A much bigger filly, this daughter of Green Desert contrasts with the more sprinting type of Margot Did.

An exciting race to watch but not the easiest to call although I will be rooting for Margot Did.

Today's races:
1:45 York
1:55 Musselburgh
2:15 York
5:40 Epsom
