2:00 Salisbury

A field of colts and geldings for this extended 6f (212y).

Only two juveniles having racecourse experience and Waiter's Dream the main focus of attention. Meehan has been a little slow with his two-year-olds this season and like many of the trainer's youngsters this bay colt by Oasis Dream is likely to improve a good deal for his debut at Newbury. An 85,000gns purchase, this two-year-old ran in a fair maiden on his bow and wasn't pressed and given a considerate introduction. With improvement on the cards, a big run should be expected today.

Richard Hannon saddles three for this. It is never easy to assess the jockey booking for this stable, however, Auld Burns was an expensive buy at 160,000gns and one of the principles in the betting. The betting is generally the best indicator to chances. Patric Hills rides Measuring Time * for the stable and features a particularly poor statistic of 55 rides and no wins over the last five years.

Green Pearl has place claims for Beckett, who holds respectable averages for juveniles on debut. While Pigeon Hollow is a representative for Mick Channon's stable. The latter often struggle to win on debut even though pundits often inform the opposite opinion.

* Non runner.
