2:30 Lingfield

A very restricted auction maiden over 5f for juveniles with a median sales price of £12,000 or less.

Unless there is a surprise, a number of these two-year-olds are unlikely to feature here and it looks a four-horse race.

Reckless Reward was a fancied runner for a Salisbury maiden but nothing went right for this son of Choisir. After dwelling at the start, this athletic colt lost its action (seemingly jumping on the bend) and losing any chance of being competitive thereafter. This race will not take much winning and Hannon does well when juveniles drop in these lowly all-weather affairs. Money talks with this yard, and if fancied to run a stormer, could be very well backed.

Its You Again probably sets the greatest level of form after a fair debut at Newcastle. A bay colt by Avonbridge, he is on the small side but showed good speed before tiring in the final furlong. The second has since won, which gives the form a boost. Quinlan's youngster was ridden as though pretty fit on debut and it is a slight worry the way his run petered out, which may make this juvenile prone to a fast finisher. In addition, Quinlan features only fair win and place statistics when juveniles are relatively fancied on their second start.

Sir Mark prescott's second juvenile runner of the season. Coeus, a grey colt by Ishiguru, costing £40,000. A trainer always to be respected, however, his first time out statistics are poor and often juveniles are very inexperienced and prone to be slow from the stalls. His win and place statistics, even with fancied runners, are generally disappointing. A juvenile that is most likely to progress with racing and very much a watching brief today.

Andrew Haynes has done well with Stunning In Purple. She is a limited but willing filly and that quality will probably see her gain a place today. It may play in her hands if held up off the pace because many of these will struggle to finish and a late charge could be the key to this race. In truth, it would be disappointing if one of the more unexposed juveniles couldn't take this.

Other races:
2:10 Ripon
2:20 Chepstow

Bet: 2:10 Ripon - Dark Times 0.5PTEW 5TH (33/1)
Comment: 'A big price speculative bet that looked to have a fighting chance but struggled when it mattered. These bets pay dividends long term so worth a punt.'
