6:35 Doncaster (5th June)

Quite a selection of expensive juveniles for this auction maiden over 6f.

Of the form horses Count Bertoni ran a well on debut in a race that looked fair for an auction event at Newcastle. Tate has a good crop of two-year-olds this season and from a good draw and experience this colt must have a big chance.

Migun Bell comes from Henry Cecil's stable and it is interesting to see one of his juveniles competing in an auction race. The betting will be the best guide to this ones chance although Cecil doesn't have the best win rate on debut and more likely to win on second start.

The rest do not do not appeal.

A good chance for Tate's Count Bertoni to gain his first win.

A watching race.

Rcae review: Not the easiest of races to assess from a form perspective but an easy winner in Victoire De Lyphar from the Patrick Haslam stable. This colt was a relatively short price on debut and done little but showed a different side of the coin today. Time will tell whether this is a decent juvenile or not, although he has a very pronounced running action which doesn't appeal to me. This may have been a pretty average race and I would be careful with some of the placed juveniles. Count Bertoni was badly hampered at the start and had a mountain to climb thereafter. I would give Tate's juvenile a second chance.'
