2:55 Doncaster (14th June)

Quite an open auction maiden event over 6f.

Brisbane ran well at Yarmouth last time in a stakes race. It is slightly difficult to know what he achieved that day although it was to a level which should see a big run today.

Lady Springbank, one of two fillies in the race, pulled for a furlong when competing at Newcastle and drifted markedly in the betting. Like many of Burke's juveniles she could well improve for the run and this better ground will be in her favour.

I can't say I was impressed by Dazeen last time. After being completely outpaced Midgley's two-year-old ran on well to finish second. That race was run at a tremendous pace and I would be fearful that this juvenile may have been flattered.

The race which Tamanaco competed is working out better than I originally thought. Two horses have already come from that race and run well so it may have been a fair maiden. I am always slightly cautious about smaller trainers however Walford is a talent.

An interesting race with Brisbane & Lady Springbank the two to note.

A watching race.

Race review: 'Another winner for Karl Burke with Lady Swinbank, who ran on well to gain an easy victory. Take It To The Max ran well to take second. He could do with better ground. Colonel Mak put up an improved performance after showing little here last time. Brisbane wasn't best away from the stalls but didn't show a great deal.'
