2:15 Southwell (2nd June)

A very restricted auction race for colts and fillies over 5f.

The betting suggests this is a four-horse race.

Coloursoftheglen, comes from the in-form Tom Dascomnbe stable and must be respected. This colt ran in terrible conditions at Haydock and showed good speed and may appreciate this drop to 5f. It would be a plus if this juvenile was backed as the stable are very good with gambles. A low draw is not ideal.

I was impressed by Singeur on debut. This colt came from a low draw, starter slowly and took an age to getting going - but ran on very well only just being denied by Koo And The Gang. That is decent enough form for the all-weather and Bastiman's juvenile should be wiser this time. The major worry is being drawn one.

Going French ran well on debut at a big price. He was beaten by a horse trained by Tom Dascombe and was never going to catch that winner, although they didn't lack for trying. From a good draw, Curtis' juvenile must go close.

Dean Ivory does well on the all-weather and Miss Lesley could be the type to go well.

An intriguing race.

A watching race.Coloursoftheglen (NR)

Race review: 'This became a battle of the main fancies and Singeur ran a consistent race and the line come just in time for him to beat the unlucky Miss Lesley. Ivory is certainly a man to watch out for on the all-weather and this filly performed a near-miracle making many lengths in the final furlong after hating the kick-back from the start. Going French ran a fair race although the Curtis-trained youngster looked held.'
