6:40 Bath (13th May)

A restricted auction maiden for colts and fillies and quite an interesting event.

Toga Tiger ran a good race on debut. From a high draw this colt showed a fair level of ability in a race where the form has been franked a number of times. With that experience Channon's two-year-old must have a good opportunity of gaining his first win at this familiar setting.

It wouldn't be the biggest surprise to see a few promising debutantes here. Of most interest is Don't Tell Mary and Glass Of Red who both have stakes race entries. Don't Tell Mary would be of particular interest if backed, as Dascombe has done extremely well this season when the money has been down.

Toga Tiger will take some beating.

A watching race.
Glass Of Red (NR)

Race review:'It takes some believing that Toga Tiger could start as such odds and then find that Dascombe's filly has ability to boot. Clearly the stakes race entry for this winner was viewed well within her compass and it will be interesting to hear of future plans. Toga Tiger is a capable juvenile and perhaps unlucky to come against one better today. It doesn't pay to bet at short odds especially if Dascombe has two-year-old in the field.'
