2:50 Lingfield Racing Tips (2nd February) LADBROKES MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 5) (3yo+)

A Maiden Stakes over 1m 1y on standard going for three and four-year-old colts & fillies. Eight lightly-raced thoroughbreds take part from leading stables. A difficult race to assess with a good few likely to progress with experience - but one horse does have some appeal. Wajeeh should make a bold show after a promising debut over course and distance. This three-year-old chestnut gelding is trained by Richard Hannon, racing in the colours of Al Shaqab Racing. A son of Raven's Pass, he cost 250,000gns at Tattersalls October Sales 2013. This January foal finished a respectable third on debut when ridden by Martin Dwyer and should improve on that first start. It is a plus to see Frankie Dettori takes the ride, his only mount of the day. Silent Thunder is one of the main dangers, being fancied to go well on all three starts to date but chopping and changing distance suggests William Haggis' colt is just ordinary and an official rating of 70 reflects that opinion. Looking at the exchanges, Wajeeh is shorter than the tissue prices suggested (9/4) - most likely odds-on. Remember it pays to look at bookmaker prices and especially free bets. Use this promo code to get a free £25 matched bet at William Hill. The betting suggests this expensive purchase will be very hard to beat.

2:00 Lingfield (22nd January) Free Horse Racing Tips

With Frankie Dettori making a return to the saddle it would be no surprise to see him prove victorious on a mount or two. A Maiden Stakes over 6f on standard going. Seven three-year-olds compete in this Class 5 event, consisting a handful of geldings/colt and two fillies. A mix of leading trainers featuring lightly-raced thoroughbreds bar one debutante. Gone With The Wind could go well, trained by Jeremy Noseda. This son of Dutch Art is out of a twice-winning mare costing 115,000gns at the yearling sales. Racing the silks of Mrs Susan Roy, this March foal was relatively fancied on debut when perhaps a somewhat disappointing fifth of ten. This bay colt has been off course for a couple of months and likely to progressed. Noseda has a very good strike rate at this course and I would be expecting a much fitter - streetwise - horse for this second outing. It is unfortunate there are only seven runners, which often puts a dampener on each way bet, being two places. However, this youngster must have fair claims, especially if well backed.

Is Dettori Your Favourite For BB?

So the Big Brother line-up has been revealed and ''surprise surprise'' (not really) Frankie Dettori takes centre stage. No doubt Channel 5 will be betting on the chirpy Italian bringing in the punters. But will this be a gamble too far for the once positive face of racing? After cutting his ties with Godolphin and falling from grace with a six-month ban from French racing authorities in December for testing positive for an unknown substance this could prove a difficult time. The 42 -year-old would have seemed an unlikely contestant being the second racing celebrity to make the grade, following in the footsteps of ex-channel 4 racing presenter John McCririck appearing in 2005.

Many commentators have expressed concern that if all doesn't bode well in the house it could reflect negatively on racing. He was quoted as saying ''he wouldn't miss anything'' when questioned about his impending stay from his family. Looking as though he had piled on the pounds his appearance contrasted starkly with those of a top-class jockey.

However, it has been reported that part of Dettorie's payment has gone towards Peter O'Sullivan's Trust, the Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy and the charity founded by Barney Curley - Direct Aid For Africa. Perhaps this could be a perfect opportunity to redeem himself.

With Dettori and Rylan forced to send six constants to live in the basement while other housemates live in ''luxury'' he is unlikely to be popular with all.

Dettori has been made second favourite at odds of 5/1. X Factor loser Rylan Clarke heads the betting to win the public vote.

Will his stay in the Big Brother house be a winner for racing?
