Gosden outlines novice plan for exciting Faydhan
FAYDHAN, who was made favourite for next year's Qipco 2,000 Guineas after scoring on his debut at Haydock last week, could have another run before stepping into Group company.
The son of War Front, a $500,000 purchase at Keeneland last year, is around the 14-1 mark for the 2,000 Guineas after bolting up in a maiden at Haydock.
Described as a "big baby" by rider Paul Hanagan, Faydhan is entered in the Group 2 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes at York on August 23, but another run at a lower level is likely to come first.
John Gosden, who trains the juvenile for Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: "We were pleased with Faydhan but he was still green.
"We'll give him another run in a novice race then look at the Gimcrack Stakes at York in August."
