6:30 Windsor (5th August) Free Horse Racing Tips
A Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 6f on good to firm ground. Olly Stevens has started his training career in style and a dab hand with his two-year-olds who have helped promote Robins Farm Stables. Hoku is a daughter of Holy Roman Emperor and a fair horse at best. A bargain buy costing just £14,000 at the yearling sales, connections expected a winning debut. If not hindered by a slow start from a wide draw, there is little doubt this early [February] foal would have started her career on a high. Finishing runner-up at Listed class on her second start at York illustrates a talented juvenile. Unfortunately, lady luck has not been on her side, struggling with a terribly slow start at Lingfield, then hampered at Nottingham a few days back when sure to have gone close. In truth, good fortune hasn't favoured this bay filly on her return to Windsor. A high draw makes life difficult and it could prove a stumbling block. Without question, Sheikh Suhaim Al Thani's youngster has the class to win a race of this nature. I can see her touching much bigger odds in running, especially with the fear she will be slow from the stalls, which has been a characteristic of late. A high draw has been a real problem for many two-year-olds racing at Windsor this season and most have lost a good few lengths which pus them adrift of those against the rail. I would either take a watching brief or place a few quid in running at bigger odds and cross my fingers that class prevails.
