Botti's Colourful Notion At Doncatser

Marco Botti anticipates a lucrative summer for Colorful Notion after the likeable filly broke her maiden at Doncaster.

The young daughter of Danehill Dancer consolidated upon two fair efforts at Lingfield and Kempton to take the CWU Legal Services EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes by a length and a half.

Most racegoers thought the game was up once Lesotho stretched clear under Silvestre de Sousa, but the Adam Kirby-ridden Colorful Notion (5-1) showed a telling burst of pace inside the final furlong.

Botti said: "First time she ran at Lingfield she was bumped coming out of the stalls, then she didn't finish her race at Kempton.

"She kept going to the line and will improve again.

"She was born in May and there'll be more to come."

Similar declarations were made by Tim Easterby after Little Jimmy Odsox (16-1) won the MG Law Education And Social Care Law Maiden Stakes.

Like Lesotho in the opener, the front-running Dictionary had looked home and hosed with 500 yards to run.

But David Allan's mount, the only newcomer in a field of nine, came fast and late to collect by half a length from My Own Way Home, a neck clear of Dictionary at the line.

Explaining Little Jimmy Odsox's lack of racecourse action, Easterby said: "We've had lots of niggles with him all the way through, but he's all right now.

"He's a good-looking horse and is from a nice family.

"We thought he'd run OK, but we weren't expecting him to win.

"He's a nice horse."
