Thursday's Thoughts

3:35 Brighton
Not too many with chances for this maiden over the extended 7f(214y) on good ground. Tiger Web has run consistently on all starts and has enough ability to go close in a race of this nature. This son of Hurricane Run is quite small. Cecil's two-year-old looks to live a little on his nerves getting rather hot at Pontefract and running keen in the early stages but a determined colt at the finish. Buckland has shown a fair level of form but is not the easiest of rides and usually takes a good deal of rousting along. Perhaps Fallon in the saddle for the first time will bring the best out of this bay colt. Maywood was backed from big odds on debut at Kempton. After a slow start, he picked up well at the finish, under quite a hard ride for a racecourse bow, losing out in a bobbing finish. That was a fair maiden and if attaining that level today should run a big race. Choral is a small filly, but a battling type. After a poor ride at Newmarket, this daughter of Oratorio showed her well being at Windsor when second to Buxfizz. If that form can be believed, Tiger Web has the beating of this Hannon representative today. A fairly competitive race with a mixed bag of juveniles - all noted are capable of winning at maiden level so a gritty contest in ways.
