This doesn't look much of a race and the favourite Riviera Chic has displayed enough ability to run a decent race. The downside is that I wouldn't be tempted at a short price. If I Was A Boy and Al Shababiya don't resemble the most talented of juveniles. The former trained by Kirk has made hard work of just about all her races, lacking speed in the home straight last time out. Al Shababiya was behind her that day and needed the experience, losing her place and then making moderate progress at the finish without too much appeal. At least this juvenile has the potential to improve and may have an opportunity of reversing those placings. Silkenveil may have a glimmer as she cost £95,000 as a foal although originally second string with regard to Thistlestar (non runner). At fair odds she may be worth a second look although the jockey booking doesn't inspire too much confidence and may well be a negative. I would suggest betting in-running if taking an interest to see what you are dealing with here. It will not take too much time to conclude whether Fahey's two-year-old has a chance or not, however, saying that, an inexperienced juvenile always has the capability of running on in the straight. I would be more interested if Hamilton was riding, as this apprentice booking may indicate some limitation today and although her owner has had plenty of winners with this yard and Fahey can get them to win on debut this runner has the hallmark of needing the experience to me. Not a race I would like to get involved myself but interesting to watch.
A watching race.
