7:55 Musselburgh (29th June)

A restricted auction maiden over 5f.

Mark Johnston's Licence To Till is a surprise package in this race costing $130,000. It is difficult to know whether this juvenile is talented or not but the price tag is certainly unusual for a race of this type. The betting should be the best guide.

Mal And Dave has run well on his last two starts. This two-year-old is fast and has a bit of size but seems to keep finding one too good.

Ignatieff has been running consistently and last time was unlucky to be beaten by a debutant. He is a strong juvenile, if not keen, and will run a decent race although, again, seems to just struggle to get in front. With so many races under his belt, you have to wonder that he is likely to regress at some point.

Mercers Row showed very good speed at Carlisle but faded tamely in the final furlong. This juvenile would have to have needed the run that day to have any hope here.

Licence To till is the unknown quantity but Ignatieff is probably the most prove of these and show run a decent race.

A watching race.
