2:20 Ayr (3rd June)

A small race but a couple of decent form horse in this maiden over 6f.

Fantastic Prince improved markedly from his first run to second. To all purposes he should run a big race although the form of that event is still difficult to assess.

Fahey is a talented trainer of two-year-olds and Flying Statesman ran an excellent race at York, a course where this trainer often reveals a talented juvenile. I think this colt will take some beating although at short odds there isn't much meat on the bone.

The unraced juveniles are of interest, however, they have an uphill task to win on debut against the talented types.

A watching race.

Race review: 'Flyingstateman was well backed and ran out a decent winner after travelling well throughout and taking an age to pull up after the line. This is a talented colt and should go on to better races. The second, Layali Al Andalus, ran well for Mark Johnston, a race which he has sent many a talented juvenile. This was a very good effort on debut and a winner waiting to happen. Cole's Fantastic Prince ran his race but wasn't quite the standard of the first two. The form of his last race was slightly unknown that point was illustrated here. He should be plenty capable enough to win a race.'
