2:15 Carlisle (15th June)

A restricted auction race where a number of form horses will be trying for their first win.

Ailsa Carmel has had a rather indifferent time in her three runs to date. A decent debut, then a poor second start, followed by a glimmer of hope last time at Brighton. Her second to Curtains was a fair effort although Dow's winner had her held a shade cosily at the line. It wouldn't be a surprise to see this filly win here although I wouldn't consider betting on her myself at short odds.

Urban Clubber was set a task last time in a stakes race and wasn't disgraced but still has something to prove. However, this is a much weaker race and I can imagine Howard Johnson getting a big run from this juvenile.

Clear Ice ran at Ayr on debut and that race is holding up quite well. Nicholls' yard is in good form with their two-year-olds and money for this runner would be a positive.

Emerald Girl is from a great two-year-old trainer who can win on debut. The betting will detail her chances.

A competitive race that may not be straightforward.

A watching race.

Race review: 'A poor race won in style by Ailsa Carmel. Channon's juvenile was deserving of this victory after a couple of decent performances and ideally could do with better ground. The rest had something to prove and none attained much today. They will need to have a good excuse to come back from this.'
