5:50 Sandown (21st May)

A maiden fillies' race over 5f on good ground.

Above Limits is a decent filly and ran a fine race on debut against experienced opposition. A strong, good-look type she will be a short price here but it will take a fair two-year-old to beat her. The only slight concern being a low draw, although experience should allow her to gain a more favourable position.

Of the unraced, Exotic Beauty and Fleeting Echo are interesting sorts for Channon and Hannon respectively. She's ok, trained by Clive Brittain, is an rare ride for Dettori, and her trainer has some decent two-year-olds as lines of form. Brittain has a poor win rate on debut although he has had two winners on their racecourse bow this term.

Itwasonlyakiss showed terrific speed when racing at Windsor on debut and if she faded due to lack of fitness she may be worthy of respect.

Above limits will take some beating.

A watching race.

Race review: 'A fascinating race between Above Limits and Itwasonlyakiss. Dascombe's winner is a fair juvenile and a lovely stamp of a filly: big, strong and athletic. I was surprised how well John Hills' (second) ran although she was well backed and relatively short for one from this stable. Clearly Itsonlyakiss improved from the run and shouldn't have any problem winning a race after this. A decent, battling type I was impressed with her dogged determination trying to win.'
