Friday's Thoughts

4:00 Wolverhampton
It will be interesting to see whether Shostakovich can make this three consecutive wins after trouncing his opposition in recent efforts at Southwell. Kirk's bay colt is in good form but will need to be to defy a rise of 16lb for his victories. Drawn wide (10) and dropping in distance will make life more difficult but it would be a brave soul to say this son of Fasliyev will not prove the best here. Miss Toldyaso is one of few with claims. A small filly, she has a fair level of speed and Kelly Harrison rode a fine race on her last time when taking the initiative, going clear before tiring in the final half furlong. In many ways this is a drop in grade and the Quinlan team are placing this filly to have a chance. Miss Toldyaso is likely to lead and could touch short prices in-running but may be vulnerable to a strong finisher but has fair place claims. Molly Mylenis showed a glimmer of form last time and if back to her best would have good place claims at a speculative price.
