To The Sea was relatively fancied on debut when racing over 9f. This daughter of Giant's Causeway was slow away and sowed signs of inexperience from start to finish. Johnston has decided to drop back to 7f. I generally consider that trainers know best and perhaps she has more speed than stamina. The Elite Racing Club have great success with their horses. If a two-year-old is going to win a race, it is generally on its second start and there is little doubt she will be primed for a big run.
Conclusion: Both runners are short priced and have little meat on the bone. Fistful Of Dollars has the most proven form but To The Sea could improve substantially for that initial run. I find Mark Johnston's juveniles difficult to assess and for that reason alone I would favour the other favourite.
HCE: ''A moderate race won by a Fistful Of Dollars who always held an advantage although looked vulnerable in ways.''
