A Wandering Mind...Cherry Ripe

To steal a phrase from Phoenix Racing Blog, Andrew Balding's two-year-old Cherry Street looked ripe for a win. He is a likable little colt with a big, white blaize and determined attitude. HCE gave this winning juvenile as a Regular Tip selection. In truth, this son of Alhaarth always looked a safe each way bet, sitting on the tail of Humugosaur. The favourite - trained by Paul Cole - was followed relentlessly, and his supporters must have been fearing the worst turning into the home straight.

Originally given at 6/1, the late non runner, Beyond Conceit, took the edge off the wager but he was still available at 4/1. Having placed my bet at 7/1 on Betfair, and covering the place at 1.8, the wager had the stuffing knocked out of it with deductions - but a winner is always a good bet.

I have been publicizing lots of the racing blogs I follow tweeting posts. As HCE has a powerful following on Twitter - several thousand fans - it is good to appreciate all the efforts of our blogging community. If we all work together, it really helps bring new faces along and appreciate our fantastic blogging community. Yesterday, I had nearly 900 page views, which is getting close to a record. As a matter of course, every blog I follow, I retweet their posts so I'm hopeful the word is spreading we have lots to offer.

Thanks for your support.
