Sir Michael Stoute has a decent win rate at Kempton and his juveniles often go well which is a good starting point for Dreams Of Fire. An attractive daughter of Dynaformer - a stamina-packed breeding line - she was pretty fancied on debut at Salisbury over 7f. Little went right that day with a wall of horses blocking any late gains and Ryan Moore had to sit and suffer. The form of that race is probably no more than average. However, if fancied in the betting - especially if substantially backed - I would expect a big run.
Mahmood Al Zarooni has been in fighting form this season. Eluding is presently favourite for this race after running creditably on debut at Leicester over 7f. This daughter of Street Cry is out of a Group-winning mare. The form of that racecourse bow is difficult to to read. The winner looked a class apart, while the second, Fulney, has run well since. The rest of the field have not achieved a great deal. Eluding led in the final two furlongs before fading in the closing stages. If slightly in need of the run there could be more to come but a difficult horse to assess.
Of the others, Paradise Sea is an intriguing jockey booking for Hanagan. Mikael Magnusson does well with the horses owned by Eastwind Racing Ltd. They often go well on debut at fancy prices so certainly one to keep on the right side. This American-bred daughter of Stormy Atlantic cost $140,000 as a foal and $185,000 as a yearling, coming from a multiple-winning family. Another of their team Oxford Charlie won on debut before being stepped-up to Group class on his second start, so this runner should be respected. If backed, it would bring greater confidence.
Conclusion: Dulkashe has sound each way claims. Her experience and low draw should encourage a bold show on a course where it pays to sit in a handy position. Dreams Of Fire could be the dark horse of the race. Sir Michael Stoute does particularly well at this course and if fancied in the betting is a strong player after a luckless debut. Paradise Sea could go well at speculative odds.
HCE: ''A competitive heat & changing fortunes. Eluding looked to hold the aces leading into the final furlong. However, it all changes in the last 100 yards. Dreams Of Fire was slightly outpaced but knuckled down really well in the closing stages and won by half a length. Dulkashe rallied and joined Eluding on the line to dead heat. Both Sir Henry Cecil's debutantes, Popular and Bon Allumage, ran well in the next two spots.''
