Meet Tweet Lady, the ‘People’s Horse’, and join the UK's biggest FREE owners club
The multi-million throng of Twitter users now has the chance to enjoy the thrill of owning a racehorse, simply by following it on Twitter.
The aptly named Tweet Lady is the star of a new initiative to involve huge numbers in racehorse ownership for the first time.
Through Twitter, she’ll be providing regular bulletins about stable life, her training regime and her hopes for the coming season - all in less than 140 characters.
All followers of the horse will become its virtual owners, with a chance to become the real ones when the horse races, as free Owners badges to the races and the chance to meet the training connections will be issued via prize draws. The stable will also arrange open days for Tweet Lady’s followers.
Tweet Lady, a 2-year-old filly by Royal Applause, will be aided in the tweeting by James Millman, her regular jockey and the son of trainer Rod Millman who, with his family, has stables in deepest Devon.
Followers of Tweet Lady will be able to connect to a special website, dedicated to the horse and the Millman training yard.
According to her trainer, she should have her first ever race in June and is likely to be seen competing at racecourses around the UK on numerous occasions before late autumn.
