James Fanshawe: First Two-Year-old Running Soon

From James Fanshawe Bog:

It looks like we may have our first two-year-old runner next week, which is jolly exciting.  It will be Levi Draper who was actually bought at the last yearling of 2010.  He is by Rock of Gibraltar out of one of our first very good horses Splice.  Funnily enough Splice was looked after Duncan McMurray who also looks after today’s Yorkshire Cup winner Duncan. I don’t know if the horse was named after him or it was decided that the man should look after the horse.

We have had a pretty quiet weekend.  Yesterday morning we only had Andrew Turner out to watch his horse Levi Draper (Pat Cosgrave) gallop.  Again, the horses worked on the Al Bahathri.  James is longing to get on the grass but isn't brave enough while we are still having this unusually dry spell.  Levi worked with Andrews old boy Spring Jim and Suomi and it was decided afterwards that Levi wasn’t quite ready to run next week and it will be a couple of weeks before he sees a racecourse.
