Wednesday's Thoughts

12:45 Nottingham
A 0-70 rated nursery over this extended 5f(13y) on heavy ground. Sluggsy Morant, Black Annis Bower and Miss Toldyaso are all in form, which is half the battle in this grade and likely to be there abouts. Sensational Love is a live wire and this drop to 5f may suit. This daughter of Cadeaux Genereux pulled hard at Windsor, but managed to hold on well over 6f when beating Ceffyl Gwell. Not a race to get too excited about. Mills' youngster looks a bit of a character but may have each way chances at fair odds.

Groomed ran well on debut when a 50/1 outsider and is likely to be fit and ready to run a big race today. Haggis has very good win and place statistics with his fancied runners on their second start and this 60,000gns breeze-up purchase is of interest. Tanjung Agas, trained by Michael Jarvis and 250,000gns buy, hasn't looked at all compliant in his first two races and although not one to back today may be capable of better. Even though this son of Montjeu has shown very little ability, I am pretty sure this two-year-old was held in some regard by connections and one to keep in mind for the future. An outsider worth noting is Wrekin Sunset. It is good to see the Burke team training under their own name and although this filly didn't show too much ability on debut, this daughter of Doyen is a lovely-looking chestnut with plenty of size and scope for improvement. If there is money for this two-year-old it would be significant and at big odds (33/1 at present) may be worth a speculative wager.

Quite an open race over 6f. Paperetto catches the eye. Mills' two-year-old was well backed on his debut at Yarmouth on testing conditions and could be capable of better. A trainer always to be respected on the all-weather, if fancied in the betting a big run should be on the cards.
