Thursday's Thoughts

A number of two-year-old races today - many competitive.

2:00 Doncaster
A short price but Nathaniel is difficult to oppose after an impressive debut. There is always the chance a talented debutante may appear on the scene but they will have to be near to pattern class to stop Gosden's colt.

2:15 Bath
Dux Scholar will start this race at prohibitive odds but a progressive sort who should win this in style.

3:10 Doncaster
This two-year-old sales race sees the winner gallop away with nearly £200,000. Wootton Bassett has the form to win but with such a giant field these races are rarely straightforward. Forjatt wasn't completely fit after a lay-off when second to the above mentioned colt and after an impressive win at Nottingham, he may strip fitter today and be a threat.

6:45 Kempton
An interesting maiden over 7f. It is difficult to assess the form of Double Dealer but his third in a field of debutantes in a Newmarket maiden looked a promising effort. This bay colt by Dubawi travelled well before tiring in the final 100y on soft ground. The booking of Callan is unusual and to some extent a negative although Durcan must be retained by Lanigan for the ride on Cross The Creek. Double Dealer is one of the more interesting juveniles today and could have each-way claims. (5/1) 3rd

7:45 Kempton
Another intriguing maiden. You will see State Of Mind coming, with his big white face. Cole has done well with his two-year-olds this season and this colt was given a nice introduction at Newmarket and should run a fair race here.
