2:30 Ascot

Not too much of interest today so a quick word about the Albany Stakes Group 3 for fillies over 6f.

Such high class events are never easy to conclude and I don't usually bet in such races unless I can get speculative odds but one filly has caught my eye so worth a mention. In truth, the majority of these look very unlikely to win, and mostly such prestigious races go to relatively fancied juveniles, although that doesn't make finding the winner any easier.

One of the main contenders has to be Margot Did. This bay filly by Exceed And Excel may have only cost 10,000gns as a two-year-old but she must be worth ten times that amount already. This filly has won both her starts in effortless fashion and both of those races had some depth. Bell's charge has an abundance of natural speed but settles very well, which is the key at Ascot - the importance to finish a race. This is a much stiffer task and only time will tell if she has the class of some of these rivals. However, there is much to like about this juvenile and she must have place claims today.
