6:20 Warwick

A large field for this restricting auction race over the extended 5f.

The draw is likely to play a big part here and makes assessment difficult.

Lovat Lane ran well on debut at Beverley after finding trouble in-running and was a shade unlucky not to have won. Eve Johnson Houghton has a bigger string of two-year-olds this season and those to have run showing ability. This filly by Avonbridge should run a big race here and one of the main contenders and may benefit from a better draw than some.

John Best is a trainer that often finds a winner with his juveniles on their second start and Reposer is a big, strong colt who could well improve for that initial run. He showed an element of ability in that stakes race at Ascot and is a very interesting juvenile especially if fancied in the betting. The major concern is the high draw. Whether experience will make this manageable is a matter for debate. However, this turning course is made for speedy types and it may be difficult to catch those with a low draw. Without the potential draw bias, this would be a major hope.

John Fretwell has made a flying start to the season and often has his two-year-olds fighting fit for debut. It is good to see he is using the talents of Brown as he is a capable trainer and had a winner at Beverley in the week. Where's Romeo is quite fancied in the betting and it is wise to respect Fretwell's youngsters.
