4:30 Newmarket

An interesting 5f maiden with a prize just under £10,000 to the winner. (2nd May)

A number of high ranking trainers with representatives in a race that should set a fair level of form.

Three form horses are on show with a field of debutantes.

It is difficult to assess the ability of O'Brien's Oracle, which lost on heavy ground first time out, but has to be respected. This son of Danehill Dancer is likely to be one of the more fancied in the betting.

Yarooh and On Wings Of Love both come from a Newmarket maiden that has held up quite well. The former, trained by Clive Brittain, was given a nice introduction under a hand and heels ride. That was a fair performance and more can be expected today.

On Wings Of Love didn't have much luck in the same race after a slow start, being hampered late on when looking to have a chance, clipping heels and lucky not to come down. It would be wise to respect Bailey's filly. It is debatable whether she would have finished within the frame that day and probably one to watch.

Al Aasifh is the first runner for Saeed Bin Suroor and cost 90,000euros. After many years of indifferent results, Godolphin had a successful 2009 season with their youngsters and it will be interesting to see whether this year will continue in a similar manner. It is almost guaranteed that their juveniles will start at relatively short odd and assessing which will or won't have ability is never an easy call.

Numeral and Sheer Courage represent a stable that goes from strength to strength. Richard Hannon has already revealed a number of talented juveniles and many of his two-year-olds are attractive physical specimens. It is never straightforward trying to assess the significance of jockey bookings with this stable - the betting is generally the best guide to individual chances.

Ed McMahon and Jonh Fretwell combination is worth noting and it is always interesting to see one of their juveniles start at Newmarket. It would be no surprise to see Temple Meads run into a place even at speculative odds.

Pretium Sceleris is worth noting if backed, as Botti's juveniles have fair place rates on debut when relatively fancied in the betting.

Potentially a competitive race and Yarooh sets the standard for all to achieve. With a host of well bred individual juveniles and talented trainers, there may be one or two gifted juveniles in the line-up.
