2:10 Newcastle

An auction race over 5f. (4th May)

The form horses do not set the highest standard and this could well go to one of the debutantes.

From reviewing the declarations, Neill Callan had the choice of rides between the Ryan pair and Waking Warrior is given the nod over Unknown Rebel.

Richard Fahey has a good line with his two-year-olds and Premier Clarets cost £25,000 as a yearling. His juveniles are often priced at relatively short odds, such is his reputation, and feature a fair win and place rate on debut.

On The High Tops hails from a stable that has benefited from the influential owner Mrs Fitri Hay. This bay gelding cost £34,000 as a yearling and owned by The Ivy Syndicate. Tate is a capable trainer and can often have his juveniles ready to run a big race on debut, however, a 5% win rate at Newcastle over the last five years doesn't inspire as much confidence as other courses.

Michael Dods has an increased string of juveniles this season due to the backing of Andrew Tinkler. This colt by Bahamian Bounty is an interesting candidate.
