A restricted auction maiden for fillies over 6f.
A poor-looking race. Folleta will probably have her supporters here as she sets the level although is not the easiest of characters. The application of cheek pieces may well fire this compact filly to actually race for the first furlong or two as she has been comprehensively outpaced on both starts before running on in encouraging fashion.
Goodwood Diva is interesting for John Dunlop as the connections had a first-time-out winner here recently. Dunlop's juveniles have been in fine form and the betting should indicate this fillies chances.
I am interested to see how Folleta goes with the cheek pieces although I wouldn't be tempted to bet myself. If she follows her normal running style it may be best to bet in-running and pray she flies home.
A modest race.
A watching race.
Race review: 'This didn't look the best of race and probably a weak auction event. Cultured Pride beat She's Ok in a battle to the line. Neither had shown any ability on debut and you have to wonder what many of these achieved. Lady Darshaan was very well backed (20/1 - 6/1) and ran on for third. Moore has a poor win rate on debut and this filly may improve with racing. Folleta was very weak in the betting and the cheek pieces indicated that she was temperamental. Always slow from the stalls, it was never going to be easy and Hannon's seemingly first string ran hopelessly and is one to be avoided.'
