A small field of colts and one filly for this 5f maiden.
Master Of Dance sets the mark for most of these to aim. A good-looking colt, Hannon's juvenile ran well at 6f last time and it will be interesting to see if dropping back a furlong suits or not.
It is interesting to see that Jamie Spencer has been booked to ride England, trained by Nick Littmoden, for a second time. This colt had a stiff task running in a stakes race on debut and never really got into that event. Spencer gave this two-year-old a gentle introduction and he certainly has the scope to progress with racing. Again, this drop to 5f is something of an unknown and there will be no time for finding ones feet here.
Nosedive has been given a stakes race entry, which is a good sign and may have place claims if fancied in the betting although it will not be easy to win a race of this nature on debut.
A race where a few have something to prove.
A watching race.
Race review:'Quite a lively betting market for this race with Nosedive, for William Haggis, contesting favouritism and winning on debut. This colt got rather hot before the start, but showed little sign of temperament in the race. Clearly fit and ready to run a big race this juvenile can progress. Swan Wings was pretty short priced for one of Andrew Balding's making its debut and this two-year-old ran a fine race. Master Of Dance was holding his head slightly awkward and took an age to get going. Perhaps a step back to 6f would be better. A decent race.'
