6:10 Leicester (19th May)

A competitive maiden race over 5f.

Tawaabb ran a very good race on debut, 2nd to Crown, and with that experience behind him will take some beating. Channon has entered this juvenile in three stakes races and he clearly has high hopes for this runner. However, this may not be an easy task.

State Fair ran well on debut at Newbury but what impressed most about this good-looking colt is that I could imagine huge improvement. Having been pulled out of a maiden at Salisbury because of the ground, this better going will help especially as he has quite a knee bend that suggests these softer conditions will suit. I can see Cole's youngster being backed once again.

I am slightly disappointed to see Bebenine taking part in this race. She isn't the most talented of fillies and more of an auction horse in truth. I can see her struggling against these more talented colts although she must have a fair chance of a place. She is better than her Chester running and could have been a decent bet in lower grade, but, unfortunately, she takes her chance here.

This looks out of Channon and Cole's juveniles and it could be a battle.

A watching race.

Race review: 'Tawaabb won this in style. I can't say I was particularly impressed with State Fair who I thought would improve a good few lengths from his debut effort. George Baker looked to run better on this second start although I would be careful in assessing this performance as the winner won with ease and if Cole's ran a so so race then the form could be limited. Bebenine is capable of better and as long as she hasn't regressed to the extreme will have a chance in auction or selling class.'
