Wednesday's Thoughts

12:35 Lingfield
Snowy Peak - a daughter of Pivotal - cost 120,000gns and half-sister to the Royal Lodge winner Snow Ridge. Noseda has done well with his juveniles this all-weather season and this filly is relatively fancied in the betting. The trainer holds a fair win and place rate with his fancied runners on debut. Giving away experience will make life difficult and unless a classy individual may play second fiddle to a form horse. Encore View ran well enough on debut and was quite fancied in the betting that day, which bodes well for a decent two-year-old with the Balding team. George Strawbridge has had a few talented juveniles with the stable and even though a wide draw isn't ideal this daughter of Oasis Dream has eachway claims. Fennella Fudge would have strong claims if back to her best but needs to improve a good deal from a poor effort last time, which suggests she is regressing and best watched.

A difficult race to have any strong opinion but interested in seeing if Ezzles is backed - as that may be a sign of confidence. The Paul Cole blog (can be viewed from the Trainer Directory on this website) seemed to give mixed reading. Earlier it stated this colt would improve with racing but not sounding too optimistic but with reference to this race Anthony Dunkley stated they had 'solid' place claims. The most interesting point about this colt is that he was fancied on his second start and although failing to show that day, it could be a sign of encouragement as this youngster may have simply had a poor run and capable of better. This 7f is more likely to suit on breeding and one to keep an eye on in the betting especially if backed.
