A novice stakes race over 5f with a selection of winning juveniles. (12th May)

Bahceli ran out an easy winner at Pontefract and looks the type to progress with racing. The form of that race has been boosted by the third winning this week (probably improved for the debut) and the second has shown an element of ability at Doncaster. Hannon had this juvenile and My Son Max entered to run here and this son of Mujadil, an attractive grey, must have a fighting chance of gaining another success.

There was much to like about Cocktail Charlie's performance, when making his debut at Ripon in a race Tim Easterby often sends his better juveniles. This colt fairly cruised through the field and won without being troubled. The form of that race is only fair at best but it was more the manner of the success which instilled confidence that there is more to come. This will be a greater test of character.

Majestic Myles travelled extremely well throughout the Musselburgh race he won on debut. He certainly needed to highlight the opposition's weakness considering the poor standard of that contest. The second placed - Dolly Parton - is no more than a plater at best. It is never a good idea to focus on the limitations of an easy winner, however, more will be needed today.

Saucy Buck managed to gain a first success on his fourth start - a very modest contest at Hamilton a few days ago. Channon's colt has struggled to go the pace in some of his earlier races and he is likely to be outpaced once again. Unless the front runners go too fast, he doesn't look the most competitive types at this grade.

A similar comment goes to Misty Morn who is very small and not a very fluent runner.
