2009 Grand National Winner |
Unseen on the racecourse since falling five out in the 2010 Grand National when still in touch, his campaign was being geared around a return visit to Aintree.
However, the 11-year-old’s name was not among the entries revealed on Wednesday and Venetia Williams, who trains him for Vida Bingham, said on Wednesday night: “Mon Mome is not going to run now until next season.
“He was entered at Cheltenham last weekend but we had a bit of a problem in the week and with the entries coming up we decided to make a decision here and now to leave him off.
“We’ll give him plenty of time and we had to hang fire a little bit with him in the autumn as well.”
She added: “I’m very hopeful he will be back next season and there is no reason why he can’t be as good as new.”
