1:55 Yarmouth Racing Tips (16th Sept) BRITISH STALLION STUDS/GREENE KING EBF MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 5) (2yo)

An EBF Maiden Stakes over 7f 3y on good to firm going. Ten two-year-olds declared to run [written Monday morning so please forgive any non runners] colts, one gelding and solitary filly. Massaat is held in high regard by Barry Hills and after a sterling effort on debut, when a narrow loser to John Gosden's talent Cymric, must take all the beating. This Irish bred son of Teofilo is out of a decent 90-rated mare who contested Listed class for Charlie Hills. Massaat was very well backed on debut at Sandown and beaten by a head, which was all the more meritorious after a slow start. A string of flashy Group entries include the the Royal Lodge Stakes (Group 2) and Dewhurst Stakes (Group 2). He was also entered to run in the Champagne Stakes (Group 2) but didn't take that option. Hamdan Al Maktoum's charge has recently been entered for a Stakes and Listed contest, which details a win at maiden class is expected before moving on to a higher level. It will interesting to see what odds are available on the day but if this colt is anywhere near an each way price I would take an interest.
