On the moors - Karen Tutty
Click to enlarge image 06 harare genetic code upsides galloping racehorses.jpgA Maiden Auction Stakes over 6f on soft ground. Ten two-year-olds take part: all raced bar one debutante. Karen Tutty may be a new name to the training ranks but her stable situated in the North Yorkshire Moors is certainly no stranger to talented juveniles. Readers may remember she sent out a 33/1 Thirsk debut winner in Announcement, a smart daughter of Proclamation, who has recently been sold to new connections for a considerable sum. I had the pleasure of chatting to Karen about her juveniles earlier in the season and from a small string they have always held their youngster in some esteem. Percy's Gal was purchased by her trainer for 5,000gns at the yearling sales and this daughter of  Sir Percy out of a winning mare is a bonny type. After a promising debut this chestnut filly ran a great race second start at Redcar when narrowly denied by half a length. On breeding this step back to 6f is a slight surprise but testing ground could well mean this is something of a slog and finishing a race may be a positive. In what looks a poor race, Percy's Gal has fair win and place claims if prices allow.
