A Wandering Mind: My Bets

Disappointing. I had a good each way bet on Yeeoow (4:30 Wolverhampton) and it was given as an Elite tip. These are our most selective tips and there was good reason to expect a big run and at odds of 14/1 early it was a great wager. Well, it's ''great'' if they manage to hit the frame. It was one of those races where nothing much went right. From a wide draw, Elliot looked to have a favourable position but he was then forced to run a touch wide, which is far from ideal. After being shuffled back, then short of room, he snaked to his right, while running on to finish 6th. Frustrating.
Everything seemed to go wrong. I am pretty sure Yeeoow would have been placed with half an ounce of luck. Every other Elite tip this year has been placed and it really does disappoint me to give a losing tip. It was additional frustrating that the race was probably as poor as you will find. All I can say is that my reasoning for backing this juvenile was so strong that I wouldn't hesitated to do the same 100 times over without a flicker of doubt. Sadly today things didn't go to plan.

Just one other bet. A small each way wager on Stellar Express (3:00 Wolverhampton). Managed a place. The last two-year-old race of the day comes up at 7:10 Kempton. If James Fanshawe's Arabic is substantially backed - going off near favourite - unlikely at the moment - expect a big run.
