4:10 Kempton (12th September)

A 0-65 rated handicap over 7f.

Not the easiest of day's racing on the two-year-old front. I've plumped for this lowly affair. Morning Muse may have each way claims, dropping into a nursery for the first time. With an official rating of 59, this is a fine chance to show a glimmer of ability. I am pretty sure connections have been disappointed by this youngster's performance so far. It was telling that she was made favourite on debut at Sandown but withdrawn when unseating Crowley on the way to the start. She was far too inexperienced to be competitive at Goodwood when behind Sunday Times. Her next two starts turned out to be pretty stiff races and although beaten some lengths this race will be much more suiting and seven furlongs a slower pace to sit handy. With Crowley in the saddle, I can imagine Winkworth is expecting a big run. A fair each way bet.

HCE: 'It was a long time coming but Outlaw Torn finally go off the mark, after not living up to the stable's hopes competiting in the Brocklesby. He is a fair-looking juvenile and made the most of this lowly level.'
