3:35 Doncaster (8th September) - Result

A Maiden Stakes over 1m on good ground.

I will keep this short and sweet as running behind time today. A decent field all chasing a sizable winning purse with a selection of form horses and debutantes from fashionable stables. Rawaafed - trained by Brian Meehan - is a good-looking colt by Invasor and cost $300,000 as a yearling. He was fancied to go well on debut but it could be telling that his trainer has opted to step up to a mile. If priced 13/2 & less a good each way bet.

HCE: 'A decent event with the first three pulling clear of the field.Perenial ran on well and could progress to a classy juvenile. The second, Encke, travelled with ease and touched short odds in-running, however, flattened out in the closing stages, or perhaps, two opponents which knuckled down. Rawaafed was niggled at the two pole but ran on in determined fashion. All three are worth noting.'
