A Fillies Nursery over 5f 218y on good ground.

A large field for this handicap. Alabanda may have claims after showing up well in a competitive nursery at Doncaster, where the likes of Elusive Flame, Poetic Dancer, Responsive & Roger Sez led the way. I was quite impressed how this filly ran. If not for a slightly awkward start, she would have been competitive. That tardiness left her with a lot of ground to make up, which she eroded in the closing stages. This drop in grade will suit. The main concern is that over 6f everything will happen too quickly. However, Easterby's youngster had shown good pace to win at Thirsk. Even if this daughter of Camacho struggles to go the pace it might be a blessing as often these nurseries are run at a frantic pace and she is likely to finish with purpose.

Conclusion: A difficult race to assess but Alanbanda should be respected after being dropped 2lb and competing at this lower level. She is a consistent, determined filly who may, ideally, need 7f, but may have the pace over this shorter trip. If ridden with this shorter trip in mind, she could finish with spirit. At speculative odds (14/1 at present) and four places, she has fair each way claims.

HCE: ''Alice's Dancer showed an abundance f speed and had the field trailing in her wake at half way. Albanda was well backed but wasn't suited by this step back in distance, particularly being bustled along from the outset.''
