Paul Cole Blog Update...

We were delighted with Silverheels on Saturday at Sandown, he always puts up a good show. The ground there was too soft for Circumvent, he only just gets 1m2f with fast conditions.

Royal Blush did not get the run of the race at Windsor and is expected to do better.

Ziefhd

landed the goods at Folkestone, she was expected to win and will improve.

Humungosaur runs at Deauville in the Listed race today, we think he will run well, the ground is soft following over night rain.

Red Courtier is in good form, he pulled off both front shoes at Kempton last time and we expect him to run well at Wolverhampton on Thursday. Otherwise we have a quiet week ahead.

I am personally delighted with the news from Aintree. Beechers Brook was always a tricky fence and horses fall there who wouldn’t fall anywhere else.

The ground at York has been well discussed but quite honestly you wouldn’t know what your horse would do on the ground, it seems unstable which some horses resent.

We are at Deauville sales this week and the market seems very rocky over here. A lot of big players are not buying and the French buyers are only buying French horses because of the premiums. Most of the English & Irish horses will be making their way back across the channel. We are going today to buy tomorrow but I am a bit wary about buying this early.
