2:25 Redcar (6th August) - Result

A Nursery over 6f on good to firm ground.

Our Boy Jack has been steadily creeping down the handicap and will be winning soon. But will it be today? If this was over 7f he would have an outstanding chance but this fast 6f makes for an intriguing will-he-or-won't-he conundrum. Fahey's juvenile is getting his act together and the type to run up a sequence when getting off the mark. This son of Camacho is likely to be outpaced and bigger prices in-running. And then, late, run on with purpose. Can he catch the leaders? A tight call.

Musical Valley has been in and out of form. However, this gelding showed he has a enough ability to win again and is likely to have Our Boy Jack flat to the boards. A fair each way bet.

Baltic Fizz is an attractive filly who has run well on both occasions, winning last time. The Burke team are a great outfit and they do well with juveniles entered for nursery races.

Conclusion: Our Boy Jack is a winner waiting to happen - but will it be today. This 6f will be on the quick side but he will be motoring at the line. Musical Valley will probably make a bold dash and could well hold on. He is rather in and out but has fair claims. Baltic Fizz has win and place claims.

HCE: ''Our Boy Jack didn't have too many problems holding his position and battled in game style at the finish to win by just under a length. There wasn't much between the first three with Fayr Fall and Just Like Heaven taking second and third respectively for Tim Easterby. Musical Valley was weak in the betting and that proved a negative for the Dascombe runner. Pity to see Baltic Fizz a late non runner.''
