Barry Hills Blog Update - Two-Year-Old Talk

Blue Sky Tipping

We had a fantastic start to last week with five winners in the space of twenty four hours. Angels Will Fall got the two year old team off the mark with a facile success at Windsor. She was quite timid when she first came in to be broken but Richard Spencer and Chris Glenister, who break all our yearlings, did a great job with her. They were very patient and built up her confidence slowly, and the result was there for all to see on Monday. She is now very professional and didn't shirk the issue when Robert Winston asked her to squeeze through a small gap to make her challenge. All being well you will see her at Royal Ascot next. Our other winner at Windsor was the Barathea filly Fine Threads. She appreciated the ease in the ground following the weekend rain and probably did surprise us winning like she did. She is obviously tough and has the physical scope to improve again, although she will always be seen to best effect on ground with some give in it.

We moved onto Warwick last Tuesday where another filly, Sajwah, advertised her Royal Ascot claims. When she first came in you wouldn't have pinpointed her as one of our first two year old winners as she is a tall filly and at the time weighed nearly 500kgs. However she has always enjoyed her work and been forward going, and once the weight came off she has always looked very racy. It was probably quite a good race she won.
